I’m a cat lady, a graphic designer, a writer, a wife, a tattoo collector, a DIYer, a friend, and perhaps most important, a vegan. I live in Ontario, Canada.
I’ve been veegs since 2008, and by 2010 I had been asked “You’re veeeeeegan? What on earth do you eat?” enough times that I thought—you know what?—I’m going to just make a blog and send people there when they ask. From that, Naked Vegan Lunch was born. The title of the blog comes from the book Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs, which my loving (also vegan! 20+ years!) husband came up with.
While I’m not trained in any official sense, I do know a lot about food. I’ve been interested in exploring the world through far-flung culinary traditions for as long as I can remember, and can tell you the difference between a hollandaise and béarnaise, what to do with umeboshi plums, and how best to use kala namak.
I love to travel, and one of the most fun things for me is exploring local vegan treasures all over the world. You’d be surprised what you can find; some of my very favourite travel memories are around the food and the loveliness of the people preparing it.
In addition, I work at a large multinational spice producer by day where I do a lot of creative things in digital marketing for food (copywriting, design, etc.).
Oh, and my favourite vegetable is broccoli.
